The HT (Home Theatre) Range is a result of many years of experience in home theatre systems. Despite market perceptions, surround sound is not better than stereo by default. Seven mediocre speakers sound like seven mediocre speakers. Often tonal discrepancies, dispersion patters and phase differences result in a distorted surround system. The listener contends with five to seven mono channels effectively causing as much cancellation as harmony. The fundamentals of accoustics don't change simply because we have surround sound.
